Webinar: A Look Inside California’s Mobile Driver’s License Program
Register for our upcoming webinar to learn how SpruceID helped bring the California Mobile Driver's License to life.
Curious about what it takes to bring digital transformation to a state DMV? For the past 18 months, SpruceID partnered with the State of California DMV to bring mobile driver’s licenses (mDLs) to California residents. Earlier this fall, the State of California DMV launched its program, which now allows California residents to download and use an mDL on their smartphone through the California DMV Wallet mobile app.
Now, we’re excited to announce an upcoming webinar that will give you a behind-the-scenes look at launching the program in our webinar: Getting Started with Digital ID: A Look Inside California’s Mobile Driver’s License Program on December 13th, 11:00 AM PT.
Who You’ll Hear From
This session’s speakers include Ajay Gupta, Chief Digital Transformation Officer at the State of California DMV, and Wayne Chang, Founder and CEO at SpruceID. As leaders from both the technology side and the government side, Wayne and Ajay will discuss how their teams worked together to achieve success throughout this initiative.
Moderating the webinar will be Russ Nichols, Senior Fellow for the Center of Digital Government.
Key Takeaways
In today’s digital-first world, it’s become critical for people to verify their identity in a digital and secure way — and governments are at the forefront of each state’s digital transformation. One way government organizations are living up to this task is by issuing citizens mDLs, cryptographically-signed digital identity credentials.
In this conversation, we will discuss:
- How the California DMV is offering mobile driver's licenses and other digital credentials, such as car registrations, to its residents and best practices for success
- The importance of open-source development to enable myriad use cases across public and private sectors for verifiable digital identity
- The security and accessibility advantages of digitally verifiable credentials
